Belligerent Poetry
kakdfjld
i sit in the cafe
with a smile on my face,
writing for myself,
seeing the world
from upside down
beneath the pen
knowing i know nothing
more than what i think
to write
for freedom
comes at such a cost
insanity inside the mind
letting nothing out and in
but visiting all the same
these desires create
drive my hand
and i realize what
i have left behind
the little voices that
screamed anger
for there is so little need
for violence in a world
i create with my pen
and this tiny place is
inhabited only with friends
so in that far away smile
as i sit in the chair,
is the vision of a world
from somewhere inside
the little dusty corners
of my mind
that my time has freed
from the limits of
construction or grammar
and allowed me,
by way of the paper
to show to my friends.
